BAKING MAGIC IN BLACKHEATH
A GENERATOR INTEGRATED SOLAR SOLUTION
CLIENT: Altas Tuisgebak
LOCATION: Blackheath
THE CHALLENGE
Atlas Tuisgebak are a bakery who rely on being in production 24/7 for their business to be a success. Load-shedding was having a massive impact on their operation as well as causing delays in their deliveries and they needed a solution to keep their essential equipment up and running during the power cuts.
THE SOLUTION
We utilised their roof space and installed 27 solar panels but added in both battery and generator back up integration too. The equipment we used for this design was:
- 1 x 12 kW Three Phase Inverter
- 27 x 550-watt Solar Panels
- 4 x 5.32 kW Batteries
- 1 x 165 KVA Standby Power Three Phase Diesel Generator
THE RESULT
This solution means that the bakery is no longer affected by loadshedding. It can remain in production without interruption and continue to deliver reliably for their customers. The solar panel installation means that they are able to use the power of the sun during daylight hours to reduce their electricity costs too. They also have two back-up options: batteries and, if needed, a generator both of which are integrated into the design.
